No matter what time of year it is, comfort food is always my jam! From the beginning, my goal with this blog is to help recreate all your favorites using healthier, real food ingredients.

And it just happens to be that most of my favorites fall into the “comfort food” category! Food and eating are emotional, period. I’ve always felt like there’s no shame in that.

For those of us who need to avoid things like gluten and dairy, it’s hard to miss out on some of the most special “food memories” that go along with both big and small events. From birthday cake, to special family dinners, to Saturday morning pancakes or waffles – and everything in between!

Whether it’s a creamy “cheese” sauce, fluffy pancakes, crispy chicken or classic chocolate chip cookies, cozy comfort food is always my first choice!
