AUSTRALIA WIN BY 28 RUNS (DLS).

Australia never lost control of the chase. And they are joining India on two points in their Super 8 stage.

When the game was first interrupted during the chase, that time too Australia were comfortably ahead of the Bangladesh side.

And now too, when the match was halted -- and ultimately Called off -- Australia were 28 runs ahead of the par score. SO they have been deemed the victors by 28 runs.

Australia managed to leap past the 100-run mark in the 12th over as they chased 141 runs in the Super 8 match against Bangladesh.

But the match has been held hostage once again by the rainat the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound Antigua on Friday. Australia were 100/2 after 11.2 overs during the second interruption. The par score at this stage is 72, which means Australia are 28 runs ahead of the par score.

Australia's chase was also hindered before this, they were flying at the start of their innings when rain halted play. They lost the wickets of Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh right after the first rain interruption. When the game was stopped at this stage, Australia needed 77 runs from 82 balls with both their openers Travis Head (30 off 19 balls) and David Warner (28 off 17 balls) going great guns. But from being 64/0 at the rain-inflicted break, Australia lost two quick wickets right after the restart.

One more time, rain holds up play. It seems to be really bufetting the ground at the moment.

So expect another interruption in this game. Right when the Australians were gathering steam again.

Both batters are now putting the Bangladesh bowlers to the sword.

After a couple of quiet overs, two boundaries off Mustafizur Rahman's over No 10. Then Rishad Hossain is punished for a six and a four in Over # 11. 23 runs in those two overs. And then Warner gets to his 50 after absolutely tonking the first ball from
Taskin's new over for a maximum.

What a difference a rain-interruption can make to a side's momentum.

Australia were 64/0 at the rain-inflicted break. The par score as per DLS Method was 35 runs from 6.2 overs at this stage. This means Australia were 29 runs ahead of the par score at this stage. When the game was stopped, Australia needed 77 runs from 82 balls with both their openers Travis Head (30 off 19 balls) and David Warner (28 off 17 balls) going great guns.

But right after the restart,Australia lost the wickets of Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh as they chased the 141-run target set for them by Bangladesh in their Super 8 stage clash at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound Antigua on Friday.

After the 8th over brought just one run, Mitchell Marsh was under pressure. He tried to release it against Rishad, but ends up following Travis Head back into the hut.

Rishad Hossain has his second wicket. And Australia are now suddenly 69/2 from the 64/0 they were headed into the rain-inflicted break.

Travis Head tries to swat across the line of the ball. Ends up getting bowled for 31 runs off 21 balls. Rishad Hossain has his breakthrough.

As the rain stopped, the covers were starting to come off at Antigua's Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound ground. But then it started back again, so there is a square patch of covering over the 22-yard strip.

Both teams had some glimpses of how this could be a good innings for them.

On the second ball, Warner pulls out the reverse sweep from his bag of tricks. And sees it race to a four.

While the rain stopped a while back, we are still awaiting the ground -- specifically the outfield -- getting rid of the excess moisture.

The groundsmen putting is a shift right now at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound in Antigua.

Banglaesh have managed to score just 140 runs in their quota of 20 overs.Only captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (41 runs) and Towhid Hridoy (40) managed to get decent scores on the board.

For Australia, Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa were the stand-out bowlers sharing five wickets between them. Meanwhile Stoinis, Starc and Maxwell chipped in with one wicket apiece.

This is the seventh hat-trick in T20I World Cups. Cummins is the second Australian since Brett Lee to get a hat-trick in T20Is (Lee also got it against Bangladesh).

A welcome four for Taskin off the bowling of Hazlewood. And the penultimate over ends for 11.

Pat Cummins is on an hat-trick!!! on the last two balls of the 18th over, he gets the wickets of Mahmudullah and Mahedi Hasan.

On the fifth ball, Mahmudullah chops the ball onto his own stumps. Cummins had dug the ball as a cross-seam delivery. It was outside the off stump and Mahmudullah tried to fetch the pull from outside off. Ended up losing his wicket for two runs.

Immediate impact for Stoinis as he returns into the attack. That ball was on the pads, and full. Shakib Al Hasan was trying to play it straight, but the ball stuck in the surface and it goes straight up and well in reach for the bowler. Stoinis takes an easy catch to send the Bangladesh talisman home.

Shanto tried to sweep, but missed. The ball hit him on the knee roll. Plumb! Bangladesh do not review that. Bounce could've been a factor as well as whether it was hitting off stump.

He tried to slap the ball away ot the leg after dropping to one knee. But the ball gives his bat the slip, brushes against his thigh and crashes into the stumps. And the partnership ends for 58 runs.

Litton Das' stint ends after a conservative 16 runs off 25 balls. A strikerate of 64!

Marcus Stoinis is handed the ball by Australia. And he gives away 10 runs off that over.

On the third ball of his first over, Stoinis almost gets a breakthrough.Najmul Hossain Shanto tried to cut the ball, ended up edging it. The ball flew over the keeper's head to the ropes. That was a close one. Almost every ball of the over fetched Bangladesh runs.

After playing out two dot balls, Litton Das slaps the third ball of Starc's third over with a pull shot to the front of square. On the next ball, he almost pushes the ball to the ropes on the other end of the ground through the covers. And on the fifth ball, Litton das edges the ball. It flies between the keeper and wide-placed slip fielder. Warner flies in an attempt to catch it. But he cannot reach the ball which reaches the boundary.

Later in the over, Litton Das --- twice! --- treid to hit the ball for a cheeky ramp shot behind the keeper. On the first ocassion, it's a wide. The second time, it's mistimed and yields a single.

Josh Hazlewood is handed the second over. And he runs through his over with a maiden! Litton Das can only watch that over go by him at the striker's end. This is impressive pressure bowling from the Aussies. They have forced Bangladesh to play 11 dot balls of the 12 they have bowled.
