Disney in the Kitchen- DIY Dole Whip Recipe | The Kingdom Insider (2024)

Millions of families are suddenly adjusting to their new normal and navigating these challenging times as best as they can. Parents are working double duty, having to process this ourselves, while trying to make sure our daily life is turned upside down has little to no effect on our children.

My children are 5 and 6 years old, this hasn’t been easy for them. They miss their teachers, they miss their friends, and they miss Walt Disney World. Going to Disney World is our favorite thing to do as a family. It’s not lost on me that these are the prime Disney years. The years where they still believe in the magic of Disney, and I know they’ll only be little for a little while. Since we can’t go to the parks, and the parks make my family happy, I decided the next best thing was to bring Disney into our kitchen.

It’s no surprise that collectively as a family, our top go-to Disney snack is Dole Whip. I remember the first time my oldest tried it. It was also the first time I realized my Dole Whip would no longer be mine, and that I’d be sharing it from there on out. I started to google the recipe for at-home Dole Whip and that’s when I stumbled upon a treasure trove of resources, Dole’s At-Home Resource website.

Dole’s website offers free at-home resources, and recipes are just the beginning! The goal of the website is to offer moms and dads as much information and resources as they can, to make this challenging time a little easier. The website is full of fun and easy recipes, free digital printables for kids, health and nutrition articles, and so much more!

Dole’s recipes are my favorite kind, simple and not a lot of ingredients. You’ll also find that a lot of their ingredients are ones that you most likely have right now in your pantry or refrigerator. Easy, and it saves me a trip to the grocery store? Sign me up! I decided to whip up some Disney magic in my kitchen and give their Dole Whip recipe a try.

The recipe itself had a total of 4 ingredients and took all of 10 minutes for me to make. Less time in the kitchen equals more time enjoying the delicious snack with my family, what could be better? As quick as it was to make, that’s how quickly it disappeared! It brought us back to our happy place (Walt Disney World) and a second batch of “Mommy’s Dole Whip” was requested almost immediately. My children were consuming a delicious and nutritious snack, and I didn’t even have to bribe them. I’d say that’s a major mom-win!

Regarding the recipe, I had two tips that I’d like to share. I was surprised to discover that an ice tray didn’t exist in my kitchen. I decided to do the next best thing which was taking a Ziploc bag and pouring the 1 cup of Dole Pineapple juice into it. I sealed it up and placed it in my freezer overnight. It did the trick! My second tip is, I wrapped the peeled banana in wax paper before placing it in the freezer. It was easy to peel off and the banana was perfectly frozen.
